We are excited to celebrate our Bengali wedding in Cancun! A room block is reserved at Garza Blanca Resort for our wedding. Book and RSVP via our link (no outside sites) by July 1, 2026. Guests must stay Nov 5–8 to join all events.
Accommodations/Important Travel Info
Q: Do I need a passport or visa?
A: All guests traveling to Mexico will need a valid passport. Your passport must be valid at the time of entry into Mexico.
Passport Validity Reminder. Most international destinations require that your passport be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Please check your passport’s expiration date and renew it if it expires within 6 months of your trip to avoid any travel issues.
Q: What is the nearest airport?
A: Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the closest airport. It’s approximately 30 and 50 minutes depending on traffic from the resort.
Q: How should I get from the airport to the resort?
A: When you arrive in Mexico, be cautious of taxi scams that often target travelers right outside the baggage claim area. To ensure a safe and efficient ride to and from the hotel, book your transportation directly with Greta. Please click the travel tab and read “Airport Transportation/Excursions with BONVO DMC.” We recommend booking transportation via the link provided in advance for convenience. This guarantees reliability, comfort, and peace of mind from the moment you land.
Q: Are flights required to arrive on specific dates?
A: Yes. While you are welcome to extend your stay, the minimum travel dates are Thursday, November 5th, 2026, to Sunday, November 8th, 2026. If you plan to stay for just the minimum timeframe, please be sure to select these exact dates when booking your hotel through the link provided.

Q: If I want to stay longer but don’t want to stay at Garza Blanca, can I stay elsewhere?
A: Yes! You are more than welcome to book with Garza Blanca or choose a third-party accommodation to save money. You can also visit or stay at a different resort. If you need transportation to another resort—either before or after our wedding dates—please contact our travel agent Greta (greta@gretaandcotraveldesign.com), and she can help coordinate it.
Q: Can I stay at another resort and attend the wedding?
A: No, unfortunately, you must book your stay through the special Garza Blanca link created for our wedding dates, November 5–8, 2026, in order to attend the wedding events. This ensures all guests are accommodated properly and allows us to coordinate with the resort for meals, events, and activities.
Q: Where are guests staying?
A: We have reserved a block of rooms at Garza Blanca Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Booking information and special rates are provided.
Q: Are there options for families or solo travelers?
A: Yes! The resort offers suites and family-friendly accommodations, as well as rooms suitable for solo travelers.
Q: When should I book my room, and how are room types assigned?
A: Rooms must be booked by July 1st, and availability is first come, first serve. If you have a preference for a specific room type or need a larger suite or certain features, we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your ideal room within your budget. Early booking also ensures you get the best selection and makes planning much smoother for everyone attending the wedding.
Q: When do I need to RSVP by?
A: To help us coordinate with our wedding vendors, please RSVP by July 1, 2026. This deadline ensures we can provide accurate guest counts, preferences, and updates to everyone attending.
When submitting your RSVP, please also include any details about children’s accommodations or food preferences so we can communicate with the resort regarding childcare options and with the caterers about meal preferences. We want to make sure everyone — big and small — is comfortable and well taken care of!
If you have any concerns about this timeline or need more time to confirm, please reach out to me directly so I can keep track and make sure you’re included in all updates. Your RSVP also helps us finalize our formal invitation list, so thank you in advance for letting us know your plans as soon as you can!
Q: Do I need to make dinner reservations at the resort?
A: Yes — even if you’re staying just the minimum number of nights, you’ll need a dinner reservation for Thursday night when no wedding events are scheduled.
We highly recommend making your Thursday dinner reservation in advance before arriving in Mexico to ensure you get your preferred restaurant and time.
For any additional nights or meals outside the wedding events, dinner reservations are also required. Breakfast and lunch do not require reservations, so you can enjoy those meals at your leisure during your stay.
Q: Can I make dinner reservations at other resorts nearby?
A: Yes! You can also make dinner reservations at Garza Blanca’s two sister resorts: Hotel Mousai and Villa del Palmar Cancun. Be sure to call Garza Blanca ahead to secure your spot, as availability can fill up quickly.
Q: Does Garza Blanca offer timeshare or membership presentations?
A: Yes — at the beautiful Garza Blanca Resort, staff may invite you to attend a membership presentation (similar to a timeshare). If approached, you can politely let them know you’re here for the wedding and are not interested in scheduling additional appointments.
However, if you’re curious, the presentation is free of charge and offers more information about the Tafer Resorts membership program. Many members say they truly enjoy the benefits and find it worthwhile — but please know that there’s absolutely no obligation to sign up for anything during your stay for the wedding.
Q: Is the resort all-inclusive for wedding guests?
A: Yes! We’ve made sure that all wedding guests have full all-inclusive access. Garza Blanca is not always an all-inclusive resort, but for our wedding package, everyone is covered — this way, you can relax and enjoy without worrying about extra costs for meals or drinks.
That said, please note that some “premium” items — such as top-shelf liquors, specialty wines, or select dishes like lobster or premium seafood — may come with an additional charge. The great news is that the included food and drinks are excellent — we recently stayed at Garza Blanca ourselves and were impressed with the quality of both!
If you’re ever unsure whether something is considered premium, simply ask your server or bartender before ordering.
Q: Are there activities to do at the resort?
A: Yes! Garza Blanca offers a variety of activities for guests to enjoy during their stay — from poolside games and fitness classes to beach activities and evening entertainment. When you check in, the resort will provide you with an activity calendar outlining everything happening during your stay.
Q: Is there a spa at the resort?
A: Yes! Garza Blanca has a beautiful on-site spa offering a variety of treatments and services. You can visit or contact the front desk for a price list and to schedule appointments during your stay.
Q: How are the beaches at the resort?
A: The beach at Garza Blanca is lovely, but we did notice some seaweed during our stay — it’s one of the few downsides. If you’d like to experience crystal-clear water and white sand, we highly recommend booking the catamaran excursion on the days the wedding events are not taking place or during any extra days you’re staying.
The excursion takes you to the island right across from the resort, where the beaches are absolutely gorgeous and the water is perfectly clear.
Wedding Events & Dress Code
Q: What is the wedding schedule?
A: We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Please check the detailed itinerary on the home page, as it may be updated closer to the wedding dates.
Highlights of our celebration include:
Gaye Holud – a colorful pre-wedding celebration

Wedding Ceremony – the moment we say “I do”
Reception – an evening of dinner, dancing, and fun
Be sure to check the itinerary periodically so you don’t miss any of the festivities!
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Gaye Holud: Colorful and festive attire recommended.
Baraat, Wedding Ceremony, Reception: Traditional Bengali attire or formal dress.
Guests should also bring comfortable shoes for dancing and outdoor events.
Q: I am interested in wearing traditional Indian/Bengali outfits, where can I shop at?
